How it works: an example

It’s 2 AM. Your child is hot with fever and won’t settle.

Do you rush to the hospital, or wait until morning? Here is what TheER does in a moment like this.

  1. You open TheER

    Tap “Fever”, or type it in your own words, like “my son is very hot and won’t sleep”.

  2. Danger signs are checked first

    If anything sounds like an emergency, a “Call 112” bar appears.

  3. A few short questions

    One at a time. Tap an answer, or type your own.

  4. A clear answer

    For example, “Seek care soon”, with a “What to do now” checklist and the warning signs to watch for tonight.

  5. Still worried? Talk to a doctor

    By chat, voice call or video call, from home.

  6. Keep the family in the loop

    Share the result with your partner or parents. A shared result does not include your child’s name or symptoms.

    Chat, voice call or video call with a doctor, from home.

  • Health vault

    Upload your reports and documents. Get a plain-language summary of each one. AI helps write these summaries.

  • Share safely with family

    Send a result to family. A shared result does not include the patient’s name or symptoms.

  • Pick up where you left off

    If the page refreshes mid-check, it carries on from the same question. A saved check is forgotten after 24 hours.

Is this a diagnosis?

No. TheER does not provide a medical diagnosis. It helps you understand how urgent it is and what to do next. If you want advice about your health, talk to a doctor.

What if it’s an emergency?

If you think it is an emergency, do not wait for the check. Call 112 now, or go to the nearest hospital.

Who writes the questions?

Doctors write and review them. TheER follows doctor-written clinical rules.

Is my data safe?

We ask for your consent in line with India’s DPDP Act 2023. We do not sell your data, there are no ad trackers, and you can ask us to delete your data. See Safety & privacy.

Which languages?

TheER is in English today.

Do I need a phone number?

No. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with a password.

Does it work for children?

Yes. A parent or carer can answer the questions for a child or an elderly relative.
